Ms. Jeanette Garcia

Post Grad Certificate; MSc.; Post Grad Diploma; BSc: Ms. Garcia holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project management from the University of Bradford, a Masters’ degree and Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the St. Augustine Campus (Trinidad & Tobago) for the University of the West Indies (UWI) as well as a Bachelors’ degree in Economics (Special) from the Mona Campus (Jamaica) of UWI.

Her professional experiences include the role of project manager under the Ministry of Trade, in the Government of Belize. Such duties included but were not limited to: procurement for International and National consultancies; monitoring and analysis of project activities; proposal and report writing and budget preparation. For nearly fifteen years she served as an economist in the planning units for the ministries responsible for trade and for economic development.

Ms. Garcia was responsible for coordinating national activities between public sector, civil society and international development partners for development of the country’s social projects including MDG specific projects. She was the technical focal point for World Bank (IBRD), European Union (EU), the United Nations System, and the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) within the Ministry of Economic Development. As a trade economist, Ms. Garcia held the ‘CARICOM desk’ which dealt with matters arising in discharge of Belize’s obligations in trade policy development within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) as it moved towards establishing the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
